Hey, all! Hope many of you are enjoying your spring breaks (if you have kids) or just enjoying the thaw. For those of you that may not have been paying attention, there have been a couple of rather significant shake-ups in the way that the State of Oregon tracks COVID-19 information and these changes will directly impact some of my posts, making them considerably shorter. I won’t be able to tease out county-level data any longer, for example.
Personally, I think this is fine. It means that “normal”(-ish) is around the corner. But it also means it’s the end of an era :)
Here are the key changes:
OHSU COVID-19 forecasts are now issued every 2 weeks instead of weekly (this was reported a few weeks back).
As of 4/4, OHA no longer sends out daily, detailed news releases about every death and vaccination count. They do keep their data updated, however.
As of 4/4, OHA now has a dashboard of key COVID-19 metrics that track trends on a more macro scale. It’s labeled “COVID-19 Update” and is actually pretty cool (see below).
Anyway, just wanted to give y’all that update. Enjoy the beautiful weather today!
Of course, my statement about "enjoying the thaw" was short-lived for those of you in Oregon & Washington...
